Per curiosità ho cercato negli USA qualche notizia in merito. Tra le varie ne ho trovata una che conferma il mio punto di vista sulle "plasticone"...meglio lasciar perdere...e se c'è la possibilità di avere una SIG...

".... I am a firearms instructor and work with regular qulaifications of our Deputies, and with our SWAT team shooting exercises. We have had the PX4 Storm for about 4 years. At first...It was great. Shoots good, feels good, no problems. I figured I have sot about 4000 rounds, and have had 0 malfunctions....until recently. We noticed that we were having issues with magazines not dropping from the magazine well. We contacted the quartermaster for our state's largest department who said they were having the same issues, as well as others. We contacted Beretta, who at first didnt believe us. In turn, we tsarted taking videos of th eissues. Finally, they took all of the guns back and bored out the magazine wells. They also sent new magazines to to prevent the footplate of them from falling off. Then they told us that they had discovered an issue of the guide rod / recoil spring breaking. They sent us new ones, but we were reluctant to install them.
Last monday, at SWAT training, we installed them and shot with the new guide rods and springs. WOW...never in my life have I seen so many problems. First, the slides would not mover back and forth at all. Then we had fail to feed and fail to extract issues. We had issues of pulling the trigger and nothing happening, soft primer hits, the slide locking back for no apparent reason and more that I cannot remember. This was all in about 90 minutes, with 8 shooters, and 200 rounds of ammo. Needless to say, we put the old parts back in. Later that day, the Sheriff ordered Sig P229 .40 caliber for all deputies.
It seems as if Beretta doesnt want to stand by their product. Several local very loyal Beretta Depts have switched and I strongly recommend that if you carry the storm, you should switch too.
FYI - I am a six year deputy, certified firearms instructor, and Beretta armorer. I am sorry if these opinions offend anyone, but I do not feel comfortable carrying the weapon anymore. If this post prevents one Police Officer from being killed or injured, ithas served its purpose."
"Px4 Storm Compact Service Campaign
Beretta identified a feeding problem that can occur with some of the early production (2011) Px4 Compact pistols when fired with low pressure ammunition. The issue arises only in the Px4 Compact and does not affect the standard size Px4 pistol, nor the Px4 Subcompact. This feeding problem typically stops occurring after the pistol has been broken-in through repeated firing.
Beretta has developed a polished guide rod and recoil spring that corrects the ammunition situation and is available for any customer experiencing feeding problems.
Not all Beretta Px4 Compact pistols are affected by this condition - all pistols produced in 2012 to present currently incorporate this enhanced feature. To determine if your pistol is affected and requires a self-installation service kit, please enter the serial number of your pistol below. Please enter letters in ALL CAPS.
Enter your Serial Number:
If your pistol requires the service kit, you will be directed to an order form to order the kit. You will see a redirect screen appear briefly. You can ignore this screen and wait for the order form page to appear. Upon submitting your order, you will receive a confirmation page and a confirming e-mail. Please allow two weeks for the delivery of your kit. The kit consists of two replacement components that are easy to install and includes an instruction sheet. The disassembly and reassembly procedures required to install this kit are also specified in your owners manual."
Saluti, Silvio
